Stephen Breen is the President of the Western Australian Primary Principals' Association. During his career in education he has held the position of teacher, Associate Principal and Principal in primary schools and District High Schools throughout the state. He has also held the position of executive officer of the Leadership Centre and spent a year on secondment working in the banking industry. Stephen holds academic qualifications in education, computing and accounting and along with his commitments to WAPPA he is also on the Boards of NIFTey, Millennium Kids and Nature Play, all non profit organisations endeavouring to enhance the educational environment for children.
Denise Hilsz has been part of the WA Education system for 38 years. She has worked as a Teacher, Deputy Principal, Principal, ANZ Edubank Consultant, District Consultant and Acting Director. She is now the Principal of Winthrop PS. A highlight of her career was winning the Telstra Business Women's Award for the Corporate and Government Sector. She values working with colleagues, staff and parents who share her passion and commitment to the provision of quality education for all children in WA.
Stephen Kemp is a partner of Jackson McDonald Lawyers, where he heads up the Workplace Relations and Safety Group. Stephen has had a long association with the public education sector through acting as the solicitor for, amongst others, the Western Australian Primary Principals' Association, the Western Australian Secondary Schools Executives Association, the Western Australian District High Schools Administrators' Association and the Western Australian Principals' Federation.
Tony Misich OAM has been part of WA Education for over forty years as teacher, principal, professional leader, researcher and consultant. As president of WAPPA he was the architect behind the vision to bring WAPPA into the future as an influential and independently successful professional organisation. As President of APPA he brought unity, opportunity and influence to a national body which now is highly visible in the national arena. He has had several works published and has been on many strategic bodies, both locally and nationally, including the Strategic Planning Council for WA Education Department, the MCEETYA Indigenous Education Council and the International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement. Tony is also a director of his own education consultancy, TKM Consulting and as such has been involved in numerous national research projects and publications. Tony's commitment and contribution to education has been recognised by being awarded the Order of Australia Medal.
